1500ml vs 200ml/hr Chest Drainage

Can anyone, anyone on this or any other list server, please tell me where the 
ORIGIONAL WAG documenting the reason behind the numbers 1500 ml total, and or 
200 ml/hr from a chest tube should lead to a thoracotomy.  Yes, I will do a 
preemptive strike and say that, "yes, it is in various chapters and 
monographs, including ones that I have written."   However, each of us has 
erroneously and repeatedly requoted each other over and over, and the 
origional reference of documentation I just cannot find.  Please forgive me 
for this inadequacy.  It would be very beneficial to all who read these sites 
to know the origin.
