Dear Trauma-list Colleagues,
Thank you for your responses to my questions, Ian, Paul, and Aviel.
Your mails mostly satisfied me.
Especially, I agree with Paul' sugestions ; "The ATLS course is trying to
teach you to think about and emphasis certain processes, not always the
precise sequence - so you should have some latitude about when to actually
perform the neck assessment."
But, the content of lecture "clearing the spine can be done without x rays
on some patients (Awake and alert, no distracting injuries)" causes
misanderstanding. It seems, that is, that in these patients c-spine
examination should be doneas adjuncts to first survey. I think that ATLS
program empasize a necessity of C-spine protection during resuscitation.
Time is now 11:00 AM, January 1, in JAPAN. We did not have ary problem with
Y2K.
Thank you agian,
A Happy New year
